A New Chapter for Steininger’s Laundry

For 70 years, Steininger’s Laundry has been part of everyday life in Central Pennsylvania. Since opening in 1955, our family business has grown through multiple generations, adapting to new technologies, changing customer needs, and the evolving demands of our community.

Throughout that history, one thing has remained constant: a commitment to reliable service and personal care.

Why We’re Making a Change

As the laundry and garment-care industry continues to shift, we’ve taken time to evaluate the services that best meet today’s needs. After decades of offering a wide range of options — including a large and successful dry-cleaning and drop-store operation — we’re refining our focus.

As part of this transition, we will no longer complete dry cleaning in-house, and dry-cleaning processing will now be handled by Faxon Cleaners. This allows us to dedicate more of our time and resources to expanding the laundry services that are growing most rapidly and serving more customers every year.

Steininger’s Laundry is transitioning to a more streamlined, laundry-centered model, concentrating on:

• Wash & fold service

• Household laundry

• Commercial laundry for local businesses, schools, and organizations

• Our 24/7 self-service laundromat

• Our self-service dog wash

• Continued dry cleaning (now processed by Faxon Cleaners)

By narrowing our focus, we can provide greater consistency, better efficiency, and an even stronger experience for the customers and communities we serve.

What’s Staying the Same

Even with these changes, much remains unchanged:

• We are still a long-standing, family-run business.

• Our Selinsgrove and Hummels Wharf locations remain fully open and operating as usual.

• All of our laundry services will continue without interruption.

• Dry cleaning remains available as a drop-off service through Faxon Cleaners.

• Our commitment to dependable, high-quality service remains the foundation of everything we do.

This transition marks a strategic shift toward modernizing our operations and focusing on the areas where we can grow and serve most effectively. As the world changes, we’re adapting with it — strengthening our core services while preserving the values that built this company.
